It's not irritation free. The worst thing about this pressure washer is that there are tiny rubber washers where things connect up. Once a washer gives out, water sprays out of the connection site, and you can't use it. I've learned to keep extras around and have even sliced up earbud tips to use in a pinch. The original washers will last about a year (probably longer if stored properly), and then they'll give out.
I recommend buying the 25 foot extension hose. It gets bent but not completely kinked, and I'd like it more if it stayed smooth like a good garden hose. For me it was definitely worth it.
I use this to clean a large wood-stained deck and various things around my place. I ordered the surface cleaner attachment... very effective.
It cleans great, it's just not "perfect" (aka irritation free)
I love this thing!!
PROS:
-Easy to get going. Literally, 2 screws, and that's it for assembly.
-Easy on the curcuit. The Ryobi caused a UPS unit to go bad...I don't know how, but it was on that curcuit. Perhaps it would have gone bad anyway?
-QUIET! Wow...I can use this anytime of the day or night with no worries of the neighbor blinking an eye! Its got a low wind up sound to the motor, not a piston loud sputtering sound.
Excellent lance/wand with ZERO wabble. The Ryobi was of poor quality as it didn't attach to the gun in a confident nor straight manner and wiggled. Though the hose on this sucks, its stiff and needs a complete roll out before using.
(Same with the Husky that had the twist connect lance.)
-OK storage rack. This is a bit bare, but it does the job, and better than not having one.
-Long hose for the gun. This I can't stress enough. Once you have a longer car or SUV, you won't know until you need the reach. Most others are 20-25ft. this is 30ft, and its great to reach the back of a longer car without moving the unit.
-Hose was not so bad to unravel as I read in some reviews. No its not straight and does take some care....But I guess you never used the Ryobi which IS a pain. My other unit didn't even have a hose reel or holder. SO that was bad..BUT not as bad as Ryobi, as it had a reel ONLY for storage which made it very hard to use, and you have to disconnect the hose from unit and gun. But still this hose is stiff, and kinks.
-Quick connect is a TRUE quick connect, where once you release the tip it stays open to accept another, so its a one hand operation. You don't have to use one hand to pull back the ring, you JUST snap in. To disconnet, you need to hold the tip or else you can manage with one hand.I spray it with lithium grease every so often.
-Simple dummy proof design. You have an On-Off and the soap setting.
-Amount of water to actually clean! This was good compared to past units. The Ryobi was a 1.2 and this was noticably faster cleaning. I guess the PSI may not make a big difference from say 1900 to 2000, but the gpm do make a difference in the small numbers.
-Light weight. Can carry when needed up some steps and such.
-Decent gun holder.
-Nice touch with a foot support for reeling in the hose, or pulling it out.
-Has a couple extra spots on the rear for a longer wand and thin accessories. Not enough for a foam gun, but, its nice to have.
-No leaks with the aluminum hose connect. I might add a quick connect to this, but its just a few threads, and my hose tip is a bit abused, so thats the only part that dribbled some water out. May need a new gasket.
CONS:
-A kick stand of some sort to safe guard from tipping it over when pulling on it. I recommend you pull out all the hose and then work. Not pull out as needed. Just take it all out from the get go. This way you wont want to pull on it.
-Is it 2000psi? Using the 0degree tip is the max I think. This is what felt a bit iffy. I tried to get old paint off the brick and it did. I tried on concrete and had mixed results. Some came off, some didn't. I used it on a metal door with a UV coating on it. Some came off most didn't. Areas that were flaking did.
-Some of the upper plastic feels a bit less durable. As well as the reel winding handle. They do feel sturdy enough now, but I do wonder how it will be 3 yrs down the line. They may hold up just fine. BUT the Ryobi was setup on a steel frame and things were super solid.
*(Updated)-The water hose is very stiff even after many uses
Out of a 126 reviews as of this review, there were about 15 or so people who had bad units. Most that AR quickly corrected and noted in the review. Others don't know as there is no feedback.
LONG TERM POSSIBLE ISSUES as REPORTED:
There was a couple, at least, reports that the reel handle broke. Another couple that the wand holder broke, also of the foot step breaking, and the BIGGEST problem with 1 report was for the hose inline that connects to the body breaking. The owner fixed it and has posted a couple pictures of his fix. Same with the wand holder, the owner used a longer screw to patch it up.
I really can't think of anything else to add for now, as I just used it, and will update as I get more familiar with it AND, most importantly see how the soap feature works. Am I up for a disappointing low pressure spray, or? As a user said it can be used at any pressure, but it has a soap tip, and maybe limited to this tip's pressure output.

Am I up for a disappointing low pressure spray, or? As a user said it can be used at any pressure, but it has a soap tip, and maybe limited to this tip's pressure output.
One of the biggest problems with this product is that it leaks. I almost gave it a 4-star rating because of this problem, but I have used this pressure washer successfully for so many things and have overcome the leak problem, so I gave it 5 stars. The unit itself has a male fitting for water inlet, so you can not connect a garden hose directly to it. Instead, they provide a plastic fitting with female joints on each end and a filter in between. I was unable to stop it from leaking badly with this connection, so I purchased a Gilmour 7FHS7FH Double Female Swivel Brass Connector, 3/4-Inch by 3/4-Inch, sold by Amazon, and used this to connect the unit to a garden hose. I then leave the double female brass connector on the pressure washer all the time, and connect the garden hose to it when I need to use it. This connection solved the leak problem for the most part, although there is still a constant slow drip most of the time -- not much of a problem since you are using it outside.
Another thing you may want to consider is how much pressure do you need for the job you want to do. If you want to strip all the paint from a deck, this unit may not be suitable. When I used it on my daughter's deck, it removed all of the loose paint and then some, but did not remove all of the paint (okay for our purpose). When I used it on my deck, I just wanted to clean it up before re-staining, and it worked fine for that. While it cleans my truck well, it does not remove all of the brake dust from the hub caps.
My unit, purchased 1 1/2 years ago, came with two lances, a turbo lance and an adjustable lance. The turbo lance spins the spray jet, while the adjustable lance can focus the jet from a point to a broad fan-shaped spray. I used the adjustable lance most often because it provided more pressure, and most of the time I would use it in a fan spray.
I purchased an older house about 1 1/2 years ago and it had green algae particularly on the north side of the white house. When the siding was power washed (using the fan spray of the adjustable lance) the green cast on the house turned white, so you could easily see what was cleaned and what was not cleaned. It was necessary to hold the end of the nozzle a few inches (3-6 inches the best to my recollection) away from the siding in order to wash off the algae. This means that the width of the spray band hitting the house was narrow, so it took quite a bit of time to clean the whole house. A more powerful gas powered pressure washer would likely to be quicker. On the other hand, this electric unit was very light weight, and I could easily carry it around the house with one hand (it has a handle at the top). In order to reach the peak of the house, I placed the unit on the support near the top of a step ladder, held it on with a bungee cord, then climbed an extension ladder with the gun in hand to reach the peak. I point this out only to demonstrate the portability of this unit. You could not do this with a heavy gas powered pressure washer.
The unit also comes with a soap dispenser. Just place a little liquid detergent in the container, fill it with water, connect it directly to the gun (in place of the lance) and spray it on your car or truck. It lasts maybe 10-15 minutes until the soap runs out, enough time to soap up your vehicle. Then switch over to a lance and power wash it.
While the unit comes with a hose reel, I find it just as easy to wind up the hose by hand, tie it with a shoe string and set on top over the handle. I do the same with the electric power cord. Make the loops small enough so they don't slide down over the unit and you have one neat package that you can pick up by the handle and carry around.
This is a good, fairly powerful, relatively inexpensive, lightweight, reliable power washer that has served me well.
Top reviews from other countries
I completed the assembly myself and used the PW successfully in the spring of 2017 and was happy with the performance. I only used it lightly around my house, maybe up to 6 hours over a few days each year.
I always do my best to make sure the unit is clean and dry before storing including disconnecting the outer pieces where the hose attaches so everything inside can dry a little faster. I even keep the pressure hose disconnected and all the bits clean and dry separately. I stored the unit and accessories in my garage which is always above 5C through the year. My point is, I take care of my stuff.
By spring of 2018 the detergent mixing function stopped working which was a pain but past the warranty date so nothing to be done besides searching some blogs and trying a few things from there, to no avail.
It worked fine just for straight water applications for 2019 and 2020 except it seemed to struggle to get started each time I pulled the trigger but once it was going it was fine.
Now it’s 2021, only 4 years into a nearly $300 machine and it’s not starting at all. If I could do it again, I’d have bought a cheaper one and simply replaced it when it dies like I have to do with this one anyway. In fact, I borrowed my neighbours 2 year old Sun Joe to do my driveway and it worked really well and I’d argue it was easier because the pressure hose wasn’t so rigid and hard to handle.
I was really hoping to love the AR Blue since a friend recommended it but it was a bust.
I am giving it 4.5 stars as of right now, hope this lasts but with over 1200 reviews averaging 4.5 starts on amazon.com I have very high hopes for this unit in the long run. I noticed the pump primes automatically then shuts off after few second, then it turns back on with the handle triggered. It has a back pressure protection to protect the pump from damage, so it is purging with low pressure then goes into high PSI, it is not a fault. If your unit acts weird check your inlet hose water pressure, test it with larger 5/8 hose in case you have 3/8 hose. Overall a very good buy for one fifty five canadian bucks and free shipping. I could not find compatible unit at this price level anywhere.
i got my AR Blue Clean AR383 1900 PSI 1.5 GPM 14-Amp Electric Pressure Washer two days ago.
I had a lot of work for it since i had to replace the whole drain around the house last October and the last tuch of rebuilding the landscape and asphalte was done last Fryday.you can imadgine the dirt around the house.
i started working with the pressure washer at 11H30 ,i took a break for lunch and went on from 12h30 to 16h30 almost non stop. i took some 2 or 3 minutes breaks because i had read on the internet that small electric morors would heat but the machine gave me no clue of over heating.
It worked all day perfectly ,it does a wonderful work ,i did not expect so much quality .be very carefull it's very powerful ,you can unpaint a surface easily with this machine.test it in the back of the house first.
i am very happy with this machine i wouldn't buy anything else for work around the house.very cheap for the quality you get.
i had bought a gaz engine samonize some years ago. but this one is a lot more appropriate.for the work.
- Reliability/Durability: It broke down. It's completely useless now, making a terrible racket when it's started. It hasn't been used heavily, so it's lifespan was very short. Each car wash cost me around $8 if I break down its cost in terms of actual usage. (-2 STARS)
- Design flaws: The connection of the pressure hose to the unit is very awkwardly placed. It sits very close to the accessory holder. When you screw the hose into the unit, it's difficult to get it even hand tight because my fingers keep hitting the accessory holder. It's even more awkward to remove; the foam bottle for soap is useless -- recycled it -- as it's terribly cheap and barely generates any kind of foam; the hose reel is totally useless. (-1 STAR)
- Annoying noise: It makes an annoying high-pitch squeal at regular intervals while sitting idle. (-1 STAR)
- Service: I contacted AR service online, and they gave me instructions to call them. I called and had to leave a message. Nobody has followed up online or via phone. I've just written it off as an experiment. (-1 STAR)
Really it should be zero stars, but one can't post a zero-star review. I encourage you to read the four-star and higher reviews, as they will point out similar issues (e.g., design flaws). (I'm not sure why people would rate it 4 stars with the low-quality and design issues, even if it does work perfectly.)
